About Us

IMG_0166.JPG

We started this project through a desire to only grow and eat the best produce we could for ourselves and our two young daughters. Our background experience was with cattle only and we had always enjoyed eating beef, but we soon branched into chickens, pigs, fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers. The aim was to produce meat that had been raised on our farm, fed what we wanted it to eat, treated to the highest welfare standards,  and then processed, butchered and cooked how we wanted to eat it. The results in quality, flavour and joy in the process were nothing short of life-changing and we have not looked back. Now we want to share that experience with others.

Our farm is situated just outside Margaret River in Rosa Brook. We are blessed with owning and leasing about 200 acres of conjoined pristine farming land. We enjoy a long mild pasture growing season with plenty of rainfall and with holistic and regenerative farming practices we care passionately for the land we farm.

We select our genetics and breed, calve and raise all our steers and heifers. We have oversight of every part of the process from breeding to when they leave the farm and when they return so that you get the healthiest, most ethically raised and most delicious beef you could ever want.

Our cattle are nurtured every step of the way. They are only grass fed, whether that is grazing on regeneratively grown pasture or being fed on our self-produced hay and silage to keep them going through the summer months and avoid overgrazing our paddocks.

Animal welfare and ethical farming is always at the front of our minds and drives all our decisions. When the cattle have grown slowly on grass and reach our desired weight and fat covering, they are humanely processed just round the corner in Cowaramup and then professionally butchered and packaged by Carbunup Custom Butchers. The complete cycle could not be more ‘local’. This a term that has been overused and destroyed by marketing companies trying to convince you that what you are eating is produced locally. There is often a trick involved, and they are not telling you the whole truth. Our grass-fed beef is truly local.

Our desires for the future involves offering lamb, pork, chickens for meat and eggs, vegetables and even dairy as part of the CSA but there are a few hurdles to overcome first to achieve all of this.

We are excited to be able to offer locally produced grass-fed beef to our community and look forward to getting to know our supporters.

Best wishes,

William, Siobhan and family.
