What is CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is a relatively unknown model for Western Australia that we are very keen to share with everyone in this fantastic region. It allows us as the farmers to share the rewards with you as the customers. It also allows farmers to distribute some of the risks. The most important one is that we know how many steers and heifers to produce for our members.

We want our CSA members to be connected to the food that they eat and especially to understand better where their meat comes from.

We farm here with complete transparency because that is how farming should be done. Our CSA members are always welcome to call or email for a chat or ask any questions about anything and to visit the farm to see their steers and heifers growing. We are incredibly proud of what we do and are happy to share it with others.

All CSA members will also be invited to a yearly long table lunch on the farm.

Share Options

Willowvale farm offers a different to normal model in our share options. Depending on your needs or the needs of your family you can sign up to a small grass-fed beef share or a large grass-fed beef share. This is then delivered monthly over the course of the year. This allows you to receive a more manageable amount of beef per delivery for that month and avoids the need for a chest freezer!

On average a steer or heifer will 'dress' in at about 180-220 kg after boning. This results in the small share equating to 60 kg for the year and the large share 120 kg. The actual cuts of delivered beef each month will vary, but over the course of the year will result in roughly a quarter or a half share.

Pricing includes delivery within reason between Busselton and Augusta and inland to Nannup.

If you are going to be away for an extended period, you can suspend your share until your return but we will need one-months notice. If you need to cancel your subscription early due to personal circumstances please get in touch.
